Meet Elmer, a 5 year old Shih Tzu mix.  Elmer loves treats and snuggling, he's definitely a little lap dog, around 12 pounds.  He's great with other dogs, but prefers more laid back dogs and is great with cats too. Elmer is doing very well with house training.  He barks in the crate initially but settles down quickly, but wouldn't recommend for an apartment setting.  Elmer would probably do best with kids over 10. 

Elmer came to us extremely matted and filthy, he had to be completely shaved down but his hair will grow back.  Elmer loves treats and hotdogs, he dances and gets so excited at dinner time.  Elmer is happy and learning how to live the good life, he deserves the best home.

Elmer’s adoption fee is $195.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes.  We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes and we will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. In most cases, our adopters will need to live within an hours drive of St. Louis, MO.
