Meet Bogie! Bogie is a sweet, outgoing little guy who is about 8 years old and weighs 19 lbs. He is a Shih Tzu with curly white fur. He came to rescue when his owner needed to move into assisted living and could not bring him.
Bogie seems especially drawn to men, but he loves his foster mom too and he has loved everyone he's met so far. He enjoys giving LOTS of kisses and snuggling on the couch. He makes lots of snorts and fun sounds. He is good with other dogs, cats, and kids.
Bogie's not a big fan of being in his crate if he knows his foster mom is home, but he's good in the crate when she has to leave him alone. He prefers to sleep in bed with his foster mom at night. He does well with housetraining as long as he has regular potty breaks outside. He's great on a leash, enjoys walks, and is comfortable in the car. He does get into some mischief (jumping on the coffee table for food, chewing cords, etc.) but is pretty easily redirected. He does bark sometimes if he hears a noise outside.
Bogie has been to the vet and received a good bill of health. He has a low-grade heart murmur, which is common for his breed, but the vet was not concerned and said that it will just require monitoring. He may have some seasonal allergies as he licks his paws a bit.
If Bogie sounds like your new best friend, please apply to meet him today!
