My name is CALLIOPE "Callie" a 6 year old, 9 lb. Dachshund Mix
 
~ My family dumped me in a shelter with bad skin and lost hair, BUT my hair looks a lot better every day while I take my prednisone for another couple weeks.
 
~ I'm a TRUE BLUE DOOR DARTER!  LOL!  I'm sorry, but if door is open, I'm going thru it!  So no children be around that would hold doors open for my escape!
 
~ My Perfect Family would be parents that are home a lot so I can cuddle, snuggle and kiss! I am pretty needy so expect me to be with you A LOT!
When you leave, I get upset and cry and bark, but when you get home, I will act like you've been gone for days! and never leave your side!
 
~ I do potty outside, but the prednisone makes me drink extra water so I still have accidents because of the medication. I usually try to go to the door to let you know I have to go outside.
 
~ I sleep in my foster parents bed, UNDER the blanket, my favorite spot.
~ During the day, I lay on sofa next to my foster mom while she's working on laptop.
 
~ I bark when I hear a noise at front door or when all the other dogs are barking... hey, it's a group thing!
 
~ I LOVE Squeaky TOYS! however, my foster mom says I tear them up too fast and has to keep finding new ones for me.
 
~ I do okay with  other dogs my size , however, I'm the  ALPHA FEMALE and I push around others and I'm very protective of my toys . I'd rather be the  ONLY dog since I REALLY WANT ALL THE ATTENTION.

Calliope’s adoption fee is $195.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
