==>>> NO APARTMENTS / NO CONDOS - NO SMALL CHILDREN <<<===
This is Zippy, a 6 yr old male, 7 lb, Yorkshire Terrier.
Zippy was found dumped with another dog in the woods in Jefferson City, MO with a terrible skin issue missing almost all of his hair and limping on back & front leg. He was transported to Needy Paws Rescue to help him.
He has some arthritis and needed medicated shampoo. He currently is on medication and will continue to take Cosequin for his joints. At his foster home, he has some little steps to walk up to sit on sofa.
- Zippy is NOT housebroken yet
. He wears a belly band to help train him to only go outside. He's probably from a breeder/hoarder situation.
- Zippy barks when excited, barks when you leave him.
NO APARTMENTS / NO CONDOS
- He would love to have a fenced yard so he can run around a bit.
- He is kind of bitey when he plays with you so no small children in household.
- He gets along with other dogs, but has not been cat tested.
- He seems to snap at dogs who try to join him on your lap, which is "easily" corrected by placing him on the ground. He will beg to come back up and then be nice!
- Golden Rule: any dog acting up on your lap must leave your lap until they can behave... sitting on your lap is a Privilege Earned.
He is such a sweet guy! He becomes attached to his person. In his foster home, he's known as Zippy, ZippityDooDah! and Zippy-Ki-Ay!
Zippy’s adoption fee is $195.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.
We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
