Ike is a ten week old, black and white Hound mix.  He was born in rescue along with his 10 siblings on July 28.  Unfortunately for Ike, he broke with Strangles at 3 weeks.  Strangles is an idiopathic autoimmune condition that causing swelling of the joints and lymph nodes.  It causes patches of  oozy scabs to cover the whole body and cause extreme discomfortable.  Many puppies do not survive this condition due to the swollen lymph nodes and inability to get enough nutrition to survive.  Ike was blessed with a fantastic foster mommy that was attentive to these needs and provided him the opportunity to nurse alone with his momma several times a day, and also receive supportive medication to help boost his immunity, and baths to relieve his discomfortable daily!   Ike has made an incredible recovery, with no reason to expect any additional health problems. 
Ike is very independent for a puppy.  He can entertain himself with toys and doesn’t mind sleeping alone.  He does love cuddles and snuggles with his people!  He has had an abundance of snuggle time and loves it!!  He is a typical puppy and loves to play and nap!  He is an expert at getting baths and snuggling in warm towels to get dried off. 
Ike has received two sets of puppy vaccines thus far.  He will be neutered the week of October 14 and will then stay with his foster family an additional week to ensure his immunity is not compromised from the surgery.  Ideally Ike should be ready to go to his forever family the week of October 21.  Ike  is a typical puppy that will require ongoing training.

Ike’s adoption fee is $250.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip.

We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
