Meet Flora!
About 1 year old and 15 lbs short hair Beagle. We believe she is housebroken.
She was turned in to a vet in the Ozarks, emaciated and covered in ticks. She is being treated for ehrlichiosis and diarrhea. She is almost done with her medications. She is gaining weight and showing tremendous signs of improvement every day.
She is currently being fostered with another dog and they get along. As she is still underweight and her companion dog senses that she is too small to get rough they don’t yet play together, though they are showing signs of improvement. She does love attention and would probably do best as an only dog for a loving and patient family.
Moderate energy level but it is hard to gauge considering she is still underweight.
Would enjoy a fenced in yard.
Sleeps in crate and stays in crate when family leaves the house but she loves snuggling and taking naps on her people’s laps. She loves her people and seems good with older children. She hasn’t had experience with smaller children or toddlers while under her foster mother’s care.
Rides quietly in car.
Doesn’t bark or howl (she is a beagle) much except for a few minutes after you leave the house and whenever she wants to chase after a rabbit or squirrel she sees through the window.
Flora needs a forever home that will be patient with her and teach her to trust. Once you gain her trust, she will reward you with love and loyalty. She raises her paw when she wants attention and loves to have her belly rubbed. She will give you kisses and loves to snuggle on the couch. She is learning to play and is learning the “sit” command.
